Star Oil has increased the pump prices of petrol and diesel by GH¢0.30 per litre, with the new rates taking effect from Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The oil marketing company said the upward adjustment was driven by rising international petroleum product prices and movements in the exchange rate.
Under the revised pricing, Star Oil’s RON 95 petrol remains unchanged at GH¢16.75 per litre while motorists will pay GH¢0.30 more per litre for both petrol and diesel compared to the previous pricing window.
The latest increase makes Star Oil one of the first major Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to adjust fuel prices during the current pricing window.
As of Saturday, GOIL and several other leading oil marketing companies had not announced any changes to their pump prices, leaving existing rates unchanged.
The development means motorists who patronise Star Oil filling stations will face higher fuel costs from July 26 while customers of other major OMCs continue to purchase fuel at existing prices pending any future reviews.
Fuel prices in Ghana are reviewed periodically and are influenced by movements in international crude oil and refined petroleum product prices, the cedi’s performance against major foreign currencies and other market conditions.
The latest adjustment is expected to be closely monitored by consumers and transport operators as changes in fuel prices often have a ripple effect on transportation fares and the general cost of living.
