Ghana’s telecommunications Giant, MTN, has reassured its customers of improved services as plans are advanced to increase tariffs by the telcos.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, Selorm Adadevor, the company is gradually upgrading all its sites to meet customers needs.

He was speaking at a press Soiree in Tamale where he said customers of the three regions in the north would have the best of services.

“MTN will continue to invest in network and customer service facilities across the country especially in the Northern sector.”

“MTN recognizes and appreciates the hope, believe and trust customers in this part of the country have had in the brand over the last 10 years. I want to assure you of our continued commitment in this region. This year and last year, you would have seen significant investment in our network, and I’m sure and I hope all of you are feeling all the increased capacity you have, not just on voice but on data.”

“But I want to give you my assurance that this investment is going to continue into next year. You’re going to see more 4G networks, you’re going to see more 3G networks. As a matter of fact, by the end of next year, every single 2G site will have 3G on it in this region, the Upper East and the Upper West Region,”he pledged.

Mr. Adadevoh continued that, “We are very excited about this and we are investing here because of what you’ve allowed us to do. The hope that you’ve given us, the belief that you had in us and the trust that you had in us as well.”

“The Northern Region, Upper East and Upper West Regions, are very important regions for us and that is why we will continue to invest not just in the network but also in the customer service facilities. And next year, in Tamale, you will see a second customer services store by MTN that we will use to continue to serve you, he further disclosed.

Currently, in the Northern Region, over 1.3 million people are using the MTN network, and this the MTN Chief Executive also attributes to the loyalty of customers.

“In the last 12 months, we’ve grown our market share by over 25 percent and we are currently at about 54 percent market share in this region. We launched almost 10 years ago mobile money service and today we have over 6,700 mobile money agents in this region that continue to provide livelihood to their families with the MTN service, he indicated.

Northern Sector Manager of MTN Ghana, Nii Adotey Mingle, in a welcome speech expressed the company’s appreciation to all customers, indicating that their contributions could not be overlooked especially when they have made the network number one in the country.

“We deem such regular interactions with our cherished customers extremely important. There is no better way to express our gratitude than to come to your doorsteps to interact with the very people whose contributions have made us the number one telecoms company in Ghana,” he said.

The MTN Yello Soiree is an annual event held to honour customers for their loyalty, dedication and continued patronage of the network and its range of services.

The Tamale edition, which was held at the Radach Lodge and Conference Centre auditorium, was well attended by different classes of people including the academia, businessmen and women, media professionals and politicians.
