Citi Business festival to groom young entrepreneurs

By CHRISTIAN KPESESE – Ghana`s innovation oriented radio station, Citi Fm is demonstrating a commitment towards building the future entrepreneurs for the economic transformation of Ghana.

`The Footprint’ and `Exceed’’ targeted at young people are two of many activities forming part of programmes marking the second edition of the `Citi Business Festival’, a flagship event on the calendar of the station launched in Accra.

`Footprint’ is aimed at providing a congenial platform to enable carefully selected business leaders to engage interactively with students in tertiary institutions as they prepare for the competitive job market. The session is expected to equip students with the relevant knowledge on current developments in the labour space.

`Exceed’ is also expected to equip the youth with practical business experiences through mentorship for the future.

The Head of News and anchor of the Citi Breakfast show, Bernard Koku Avle stated that young people have significant role to play for the economic revolution of the country.

Citi fm he said is committed towards mentoring the youth to venture into entrepreneurship especially technological entrepreneurship saying “entrepreneurship is the solution to Ghana`s economic challenges’’.

Speaking at the launch of the 2nd Business Festival, Mr Avle assured the business community of the station`s readiness to create opportunities for them to network with each other in order to accelerate growth and improve standards of living the ultimate benefit of the Ghanaian economy.

The second Citi Business Festival is tailored to meet the needs of all businesses with varied activities for the month long celebration involves outdoor and on-air business education programmes.

Other activities include management Boot Camp, Sales Revolution, Human Resource and Talent Development, Customer service and an Innovation Summit to be held on the theme: “The future of Ghana Businesses’’.

Head of Business at the station, Vivian Kai Lokko described the Citi Business festival as the biggest is the country and assured of Citi`s resolve to pursue the interest of all genuine businesses in the country.

Among Ghana and world`s best business brains expected at the festival includes; Mawuli Ocloo, an experienced Sales & Marketing Executive, a business turn-around specialist Caleb Ayiku, Michael Porter, a management development trainer and many others.
