Samsung Electronics has officially pulled back the curtain on its newest lineup of Galaxy Z foldable smartphones, doubling down on artificial intelligence (AI) to redefine the premium mobile experience.
The new trio—the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8—aims to make foldable technology more accessible while catering to varied consumer lifestyles, ranging from entertainment and productivity to everyday convenience.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 has been reimagined to offer a more natural foldable experience, allowing users to transition seamlessly between the cover screen for quick tasks and the expansive inner display for reading, gaming, and streaming. Touted as the lightest Z Fold model to date at just 201 grams, it runs on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and is equipped with a 4,800mAh battery for extended use.
Durability has also been upgraded. The Fold8 introduces Samsung’s new Flex Titanium display structure, which enhances toughness while significantly reducing the visibility of the screen crease over time. Additionally, the display can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness, ensuring clear visibility even outdoors.
For power users seeking maximum productivity, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, billing it as its most advanced foldable smartphone to date. The device boasts an eight-inch main display tailored for heavy multitasking and content creation. It pairs an advanced camera system with enhanced cooling technology to handle demanding workloads. Measuring a remarkably slim 4.1 millimeters when unfolded and weighing 215 grams, it is the slimmest Fold model the company has produced.
Rounding out the lineup is the Galaxy Z Flip8, designed for users who prioritize portability and self-expression. The device offers quicker access to information and customizable shortcuts through its AI-powered FlexWindow.
Artificial intelligence serves as the core of the new ecosystem. Samsung has optimized its Galaxy AI for each specific form factor to deliver proactive and highly personalized experiences. Furthermore, the smartphones integrate Google’s Gemini Intelligence, enabling users to execute complex tasks across multiple applications with fewer steps, all while maintaining strict user privacy, transparency, and control.
