Private Sector participation key to economic challenges

    In the wake of dwindling financial resources due to recent economic meltdown which has negatively affected all global economies, private sector participation has been identified as a critical factor towards addressing economic challenges.

    Dean of the Diplomatic Corps IN Ghana, His Excellency Pavelyn Tendai Musaka has therefore called for an urgent need for Public Private Partnership (PPP) to compliment governments efforts to ameliorate the suffering of the masses.

    The Dean who is also the Zimbabwean ambassador to Ghana made the call during a Diplomatic Fair organized in Accra by Precise Communications Limited.

    She urged for the critical need for private sector partnership to promote trade and tourism in order to stimulate long term economic growth.

    Madam Pavelyn Musaka challenged the over fifty (50) diplomatic missions and businesses in Ghana to ensure transparency in the promotion of economic Diplomacy through PPP arrangements urging them to produce resource based management in the midst of tight budgets.

    Chief Executive Officer of Precise Communications Limited, Stephen Gyasi Kwao, organisers of the Diplomatic Fair said the fair was aimed at providing a platform for all Diplomatic Missions in Ghana to interact on issues of Trade and business opportunities in their respective countries, culture and educational opportunities among others.

    According to him, the fair would deepen collaboration and information sharing whiles forstering multinational relations.

    The platform provided by the three day fair he noted would enhance the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs through knowledge sharing in order to create the needed job avenues.

    The 2016 Diplomatic Fair which was observed on theme; ``Enhancing Economic Development through Diplomacy’’ also afforded Ghanaian businesses the opportunity to showcase Ghana`s economic potentials to the global community.

    Mr Gyasi urged the Diplomatic community to take advantage of subsequent Fairs to enable national of other countries to know about their missions.

    The Diplomatic Missions in Ghana showcased business, educational, tourism and rich culture potentials of their countries during the fair.

    Among the several Oganisations, businesses that sponsored, partnered and attended the fair include; Stanbic Bank, Inno Link, Kenpong Transport ltd, Zoomlion ltd of Ghana, Dangote Ghana Limited under the Nigerian mission, MTN Ghana, Holy Trininty SPA and others.
