The Ghana Revenue Authority continues to chalk success in its revenue mobilization drive. The Authority last year exceeded its revenue target of Gh¢21.57 billion by collecting 22.17 billion cedis.

The Authority is attributing the success chalked to the implementation of the single Window Unit system introduced at the port in September last year as well as strategies devised by the Authority.

Commissioner General of the GRA George Blankson said the development will spur his outfit to exceed this year’s target of 27.6 billion cedis.

This he believes will be facilitated by the consolidation of the implementation of the single window unit at the port as well as strengthening of other strategies in widening the tax net.

Touching on the Ecowas Common External Tarrif, Mr Blankson said those opposing the implementation of the tarrif are businesses that feel they are not been favored by the implementation of the tarrif.

The GRA also intends enforcing a rigorous implementation of the Excise Tax Stamp (ETS) system from this year.
