Accra Brewery conducts health screening for staff

Accra Brewery Limited has conducted a health screening exercise for 471 employees.

The two-day exercise saw employees undergo dental, typhoid, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings at the premises of the company in Accra.

Sponsored by the Human Resource Department, the screening was in line with ABL’s sustainable development goal of helping to create a thriving world where quality of lives is improved through employee well-being programmes.

Stressing on the significance of the annual health screening, Abena Sakyibea Boadu, HR Administration Manager and coordinator of the exercise stressed on the importance of healthy employees to the growth of the company.

“Our employees are an enduring advantage to the business. We find it obligatory to provide accessible healthcare for them and their dependents through our employee healthcare policy that grants free medical care to all employees. We are looking forward to organizing more health education and physical wellbeing activities for the promotion of healthy lifestyles as our contribution to goal number three of the UN Global Goals for sustainable development”.

Medical doctors and health assistants from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, Legon Hospital and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra undertook the screening exercise. Some Employees expressed their appreciation to the company for being committed to their well-being and called for more of such programmes every year.
