President John Dramani Mahama has said the Saglemi Housing Project is expected to be ready for commissioning by the end of 2027, with the first 700 housing units scheduled for completion by March next year.
The President made the disclosure on Thursday, August 20, 2026, when he inspected ongoing work at the project together with Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui.
The 1,500-unit housing project is being completed by LMI Holdings, following the government’s decision to revive and complete the long-delayed development.
During the inspection, the President was briefed by the developer on the progress of work and the plans for completing the estate.
The completed housing development is expected to include a dedicated water supply system, internet connectivity and other essential infrastructure aimed at making the estate suitable for residents.
According to the timeline presented to the President, work on the first 700 units is expected to be completed by March 2027, while the full 1,500-unit project is targeted for commissioning by the end of 2027.
The inspection forms part of the government’s efforts to monitor progress on the project and ensure that the long-delayed housing development is completed and made available to the public.
