In a major boost to Ghana’s aviation sector, Emirates Airlines is set to significantly ramp up its operations on the Accra-Dubai route. Starting July 12, 2026, the airline will add four extra weekly flights, bringing its total operations between the two cities to 11 flights per week.
Currently, Emirates maintains a once-daily service, operating seven flights a week between Kotoka International Airport (KIA) and Dubai International. Under the expanded schedule, the airline will introduce additional flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The newly added services are scheduled to arrive in Accra at 7:40 a.m. before departing at 10:25 a.m., ultimately landing in Dubai at 10:40 p.m. This strategic scheduling provides passengers with a much wider array of choices, seamlessly blending morning departures with existing options to suit varying travel itineraries.
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) warmly welcomed the announcement, hailing it as a significant milestone for the country’s aviation sector. According to GACL, the capacity expansion does more than just add seats; it solidifies Accra’s reputation as a premier and highly preferred regional gateway.
The authority noted that Emirates’ decision to scale up its operations is a direct vote of confidence in the conducive operating environment in Ghana, which continues to attract international businesses looking to establish or expand their footprint on the continent.
Ultimately, the increased flight frequency underscores the robust and enduring partnership between Emirates and Ghana’s aviation authorities. More importantly, it reflects a surging, undeniable demand for air travel through KIA, further integrating Ghana into global commerce, tourism, and travel networks.
