Management and staff of GCB Bank Limited at the weekend embarked on a health walk in the Northern regional capital, Tamale, designed to sensitise workers on the need to adopt healthy lifestyles.
Led by the Managing Director of the Bank, Mr Ernest Mawuli Agbesi, the walk brought together about 600 participants for the five-kilometre walk, which commenced at the Tamale Sports Stadium and ended at the same premises after over two hours’ walk and aerobics.
Members of the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces and their wives provided brass band music making the walk exciting and successful.
Addressing the participants, Mr Agbesi described banking as a more stressful job and advised bankers to prioritise physical exercise.
He said due to the intensive nature of banking, a lot of bankers are likely to pick up one disease or the other.
Mr Agbesi stressed the need for regular monthly check-ups and regular exercise in order to maintain good health.
The Commander of the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brigadier-General Stanley Brian Alloh lauded GCB for the collaboration.
