Shell FuelSave has partnered with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) to telecast all the 28 AFCON matches live to Ghanaians.
In line with this, giant screens have been mounted at the GBC fan viewing base and various lorry parks to bring the live matches right to the door step of Ghanaian football fans. The venues include the GBC Zoy Garden, Achimota bus terminal, Tema station, Madina lorry station among other locations. The viewing centres and activations will run till end of the tournament i.e. 5th February, 2017.
In addition, Shell FuelSave is giving trotro and taxi drivers at selected lorry parks and the GBC fan viewing base the chance to predict and instantly win free fuel, shopping vouchers, Shell-branded souvenirs, Shell lubricants and many more prizes as they enjoy the matches.
Mr. Ebenezer Faulkner, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana said: ‘Ghanaians love football, so partnering with GBC to sponsor these live telecasts of AFCON 2017 matches is the perfect way to give our people what they love.’
Through this activation, Shell FuelSave hopes to inspire viewers, especially the commercial drivers who are always on the move through the 2017 AFCON, to be happy during this special football occasion and enjoy it in the comfort of their various locations.
The partnership with GBC forms part of Shell’s ambition to encourage and promote the use of Shell FuelSave, the most advanced economy fuel designed to last longer and help consumers get a little further on each tank at no extra cost.
