Producer price inflation hits 10.3 %

    The year on year Producer Price Inflation (PPI) for July has hit 10.3% which is 2.7 percentage points higher than the 7.6% recorded in June.

    The month-on-month inflation between June and July also recorded 0.9% relative to 1.2% for the previous period. Mining and Quarrying recorded an increase of 30.4% on year-on-year and 6.4% for the monthly record.

    Manufacturing was 1.0% annual and -0.2% monthly while Utilities was 36.6% annual and 0.9% monthly.

    Speaking at a press conference in Accra, Government Statistician, Dr. Philomena Nyarko attributed the rise to the increase in the PPI for Mining and Quarrying.
