The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has assured the public that a comprehensive policy framework is in place to guide the implementation of the newly launched Feed Ghana Project.

President John Dramani Mahama on April 12, 2025 launched the Feed Ghana Project, an initiative that seeks to modernise and expand the agricultural sector to create jobs, reduce food inflation, and ensure long-term food security.

According to President Mahama, the programme will serve as an umbrella framework under which all agricultural projects and interventions will be implemented. It focuses on increasing food production, promoting modern farming practices, improving agricultural infrastructure, and establishing agro-industrial zones across the country.

While responding to concerns about the absence of a clear policy document for the programme, the argic minister stated that the document to guide the execution of the project is completed.

“Before the launch, we had a team in place, the policy document was generated and we have invited AGRA to be part of it to finanlise every thing for us. So, as we speak, you can come to the office and we will make everything available for you to look at so that you can hold us onto the comments we are making.

“If we don’t set for us target, we will not achieve anything,” he stated.
