Prominent activist and Convener of the FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has issued a rebuke to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), calling on the party to take decisive action against its lawyers who are allegedly brokering secret deals for individuals under prosecution.

Barker-Vormawor labeled such individuals as charlatans and accused them of betraying the principles of justice and social democracy.

“The NDC party must turn against and root out the charlatans who have no belief in the ideals of a just social democracy. The charlatans who joined politics for their stomach. ORAL them all! Well said, Fiifi Kwetey,” Barker-Vormawor posted on Facebook.

His statement aligns with growing concerns over the future of the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative — the government-led anti-corruption effort aimed at retrieving public funds lost through corruption and mismanagement.

Earlier this week, NDC General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey made headlines by admitting that some party-affiliated lawyers are actively trying to negotiate backdoor deals for individuals facing prosecution under the ORAL initiative.

“Think again. Because this victory was achieved largely because the people of Ghana wanted the right thing done — not for deals to be cut… No, it won’t happen,” Kwetey warned, hinting that he may eventually name those involved.

Echoing these concerns, private legal practitioner and governance advocate Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare (Prof. Azar) declared that ORAL itself is now under threat.

“Fiifi Kwetey blows whistle on party men trying to cut deals with looters. ORAL at risk,” Prof. Asare posted on Facebook. naomi watts nude
