Nasiru Issahaku appointed BoG boss

    President John Mahama has appointed Nasiru Issahaku as the new Governor of Bank of Ghana.

    A source at the Flagstaff House who confirmed the appointment to Starrfmonline.com said Dr, Issahaku would replace Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah who retired at the end of March.

    Until his appointment Mr, Issahaku was a Second deputy at the Central Bank.

    Many expected First Deputy Governor Millison Narh to take over the affairs of the Central Bank after he assumed the role of acting governor.

    Dr Issahaku holds a Masters in Agric Economics and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.

    He worked as a Governance Expert at the State University of New York, Center for International Studies.

    Dr. Issahaku has also worked at the African Development Bank and headed EDAIF.
