The Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) has announced a robust financial performance, posting an audited profit of GH¢1.1 billion for the 2025 fiscal year. This impressive bottom-line figure is further bolstered by the Fund’s unprecedented achievement of GH¢5.39 billion in mineral royalty receipts recorded in the first half of 2026.

The audited 2025 results underscore MIIF’s growing profitability and the successful optimization of the state’s equity interests in the mining sector. According to the Fund’s management, the GH¢1.1 billion profit reflects a combination of favorable global commodity prices—particularly gold—increased production outputs from key mining partners, and streamlined operational efficiencies within the Fund itself.

Building on the momentum of its 2025 profitability, MIIF has seen a massive influx of revenue in the first six months of 2026. The GH¢5.39 billion gathered in royalty receipts between January and June 2026 highlights the continued strength of Ghana’s mineral sector and the aggressive revenue mobilization strategies implemented by the Fund.

Industry analysts note that this surge in royalty receipts provides a significant buffer for the national economy. The revenues are strategically earmarked to bolster the national budget, fund critical infrastructure development, and provide sovereign backing for local investment vehicles. Furthermore, the figures demonstrate a high level of compliance and transparency within the mineral royalty collection framework.

Management at MIIF indicated that the Fund remains committed to its core mandate of maximizing the benefits of the country’s mineral wealth for the Ghanaian people. With gold prices remaining resilient on the international market and the Fund’s investment portfolio continuing to mature, MIIF is projected to sustain this strong fiscal trajectory through the remainder of 2026.
