Floyd Mayweather’s visit to Ghana is an opportunity to advertise and market Ghana as a brand to the international community, Upscale Entertainment, the organisers bringing the boxing legend into the country, have said.

The American boxing icon will be in the country on a two-day visit from June 15-16.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Upscale Entertainment, Roni Yeboah, the world’s attention will be focused on Ghana during Mayweather’s “Undefeated Tour” of the country.

“For the period that Mayweather will be in Ghana on the Undefeated Tour, the attention of the world will be on Ghana and you can be assured of this as he has over 10 million followers on both Twitter and Instagram respectively,” Madam Yeboah said at a press conference on Wednesday, 7 June.

“The Western media will also be interested in what he is coming to do here, so this will be a perfect opportunity to showcase brand Ghana and what we have to offer in terms of business and tourism.”

While in the country, Mayweather Jr will visit the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, have a corporate dinner at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, a nightclub event and a boxing exhibition bout in his honour at the Bukom Boxing Arena on June 16.

He will also pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, and donate to an orphanage while in Kumasi.
