The Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, John Dekyem Attafuah has been fired with immediate effect, from his post.
The Minister for Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda who signed the dismissal letter dated 16th January 2019 and addressed to the Board chairman of the company Oboshie Sai Coffie, instructed that Mr. Attafuah should hand over to the Deputy Managing Director of the Company, Yaw Kwakwa.
Mr. Yaw Kwakwa has been asked by the sector Minister to act as Managing Director until a substantive Managing Director is appointed.
It is unclear why Mr. Attafuah has been axed, but information gathered by BestNewsGH.com indicates that he has been accused of sabotaging government policies and initiatives within the company.
There are also indications that the Oboshie Sai Coffie led Board is likely to dissolved by close of today, Friday January 18, 2019.
Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah was appointed Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited by president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in March 2017, taking over from the Charles Asare led administration.
Mr. John Attafuah, a Management Consultant and until his appointment, was the Managing Director of Virtual Access Limited; a market research company. He is staunch member of the NPP and served as boss of the National Petroleum Authority under President John Agyekum Kufuor between 2005 and 2009.
He has over 30 years’ experience in the Energy, Services, Information Technology (IT) and Pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah holds a degree in Computer Science and Statistics, from University of Ghana, Legon and a Master of Science degree, in Systems Development, from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
