The Greater Accra Shippers Committee has held its 93rd meeting for stakeholders to find redress to issues confronting members in the clearance of their goods through the sea ports, airport and the borders.
The provided the platform for importers, exporters and shippers to present their challenges to agencies within the maritime clearance chain for the needed solutions to be provided.
Members used the meeting to request for more certified weighing stations for cargoes ahead of the implementation of the IMO regulation on verified gross mass of containers which became effective on the 1st July, 2016.
Some of the committee members say they are enthused about efforts being made by authorities to make the clearance process less cumbersome for importers and exporters.
