The deputy Transport Minister Joyce Bawah Mogtari has announced that government has secured 495 new buses to compliment the ailing Metro Mass Transport system.
Mrs. Mogtari, speaking on Morning Starr on Monday, said the buses will augment the services of the Metro Mass Transit company which has suffered managerial and maintenance challenges in recent times.
“What we have done since we have been in government is that we have worked to import buses from credible manufacturing companies…we are importing 495 buses, 200 from a Chinese manufacturer and the 295 from Scania buses.
“His Excellency has only objective in mind which is that we must make transportation available to the masses,” Mrs. Mogtari told host Nii Arday Clegg on Starr 103.5FM
She also assured that the Transport Sector will receive massive progress especially in the railway sector.
According to her, there has been a serious progress as part of efforts to transform the current state of transportation in the country adding that investments have been made in combining road development with the inland ports.
