The Ghana Community Network (GCNeT) says the introduction of the national identification project, the digital addressing system and a fully automated business registration process means Ghana is on the path to use technology to rake in massive revenue.

“We are convinced that the foundations for rapid technological and economic advancement are being steadily put in place” said Executive Chairman of GCNeT, Dr. Nortey Omaboe.

He made the remark at the launch of e-Certificate portal for the registration of businesses online by the Registrar-General’s Department (RGD) in Accra.

According to him, the eCertification launch is a manifestation of the very best of the ideals that Public-Private Partnership (PPP) has to offer.

He noted that the project itself was conceived as a design, finance, build, operate and transfer model based on an international competitive bidding process with part funding from the World Bank.

Through the project, GCNet, in collaboration with various government entities, will deploy the eRegistrar platform, which is linked to the Total Revenue Integrated Processing System (TRIPS), which integrates with the Customs platform as well as the expenditure monitoring platform of the Ministry of Finance, known as the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information Service (GIFMIS).

He insisted that the solution that has been built is a robust and powerful tool, which GCNeT is extremely proud to be associated with.
