Ghana’s Black Stars are now ranked the 50th best national football team in the world.

The Black Stars moved from the 49th to the 50th position with an accompanying decrease in total accumulated points from 678 to 665 in the latest ranking released Thursday.

The Black Stars have dropped 14 places down their position same time last year and are now placed between Haiti (49) and Korea Republic (51) on the ladder.

The four-time African Champions, however, still hold on to the ninth position, only above Cote d’Ivoire (56) in Africa’s top 10.

Egypt ranked 24 in the World still lead the pack on the continent, while Senegal (27), Congo DR (28), Tunisia (34), 2017 Afcon champions Cameroon (36), Nigeria (39), Burkina Faso (44) and Algeria (48) make up the top eight in that order.

Germany, have reclaimed the top spot in the world following their success at the just ended FIFA Confederations Cup.

Brazil and Argentina have consequently moved down to the second and third positions respectively, but Portugal, Switzerland and Poland keep hold of the fourth, fifth and sixth spots, in that order, from last month.

Chile, Colombia, France and Belgium, in that sequence, complete the top 10.

The Black Stars recently lost two consecutive friendly matches against Mexico and the USA after they hammered Ethiopia 5-0 in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last month.
