Carmudi examines the most in demand car features world-wide
Car makers are investing billions of dollars to add new technologies that, as it turns out, are not being utilized by many of the owners of those vehicles. In fact, the survey finds that at least 20% of new-vehicle owners have never used 16 of the 33 technology features measured. When it comes to used cars, which features are likely to make or break a sale? Carmudi, the easiest way to buy and sell your car online, has analyzed data based on hundreds and thousands of global listings uploaded to the company’s car classifieds website to determine the most in-demand features worldwide.
Car buyers in Ghana are increasingly looking for cars with power steering. Data from the car classifieds revealed that 9 out of 10 sold cars in August had power steering. Cruise control, a system that automatically controls the speed of a motor vehicle, is also quite popular in Africa. 64% of vehicles sold by Carmudi in Nigeria have cruise control, as do 42% of vehicles in Ghana.
Alarm systems were much more popular in Africa, than in most countries in Asia. In Nigeria, 59% of vehicles sold came equipped with alarms, as did 47% of vehicles sold in Ghana. As a comparison, in other Carmudi regions including Bangladesh and Pakistan, car alarms are only present in under 10% of cars sold.
