Church of Pentecost launches Environmental Care Campaign

The Church of Pentecost, has launch an environmental care campaign program at PIWC – Kokomlemle in Accra.

The Church of Pentecost Environmental Care Campaign program is in partnership with; Zoomlion Ghana  and the
Government of the Republic of Ghana.

The Government and Civil society organizations have over the years taken measures to cartel this cancan.

AIM
The environmental care campaign is aimed at protecting the environment and curbing sanitation-related issues in the country.

Addressing guests at the launch, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye said; “The campaign is one of the many church-state partnerships captured in the church’s vision for the next five years, dubbed “Vision 2023”. The church in the next five years, intends to do more than only partnering government in its sustainable development agenda; and to support the president’s passion of making Ghana clean, and Accra the cleanest city by 2020.

Also present at the event were the Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Cecillia Abene Dapaah, and Mohammed Adjei Sowah, CEO of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, who both congratulated the church for their bold initiative pledged their support to the cause.

Partnership
As partner of the campaign, Zoomlion Ghana Limited will be providing personnel and equipment during the clean-up exercise across the nation. To kick-start the campaign, the company presented 500 waste bins to the church at the launch, and has agreed to place some litter-bins at strategic places.
