The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Sun Boahong, has pledged the determination of the Asian economic power house, to deepen its trade ties with Ghana, for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

She encouraged captains of industry in both nations to take full advantage of the business opportunities and build stronger partnerships.

She was speaking at the “Ghana-China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum” held in Kumasi.

The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ghana-China Friendship Association with support from the Zenith Bank.

It provided the platform for business leaders in the two countries to dialogue and find ways to boost investments.

The forum also offered Ghanaian entrepreneurs and their Chinese counterparts, together with other stakeholders, the chance to interact with policy makers and other key agents with a view to improving trade and investment.

Madam Sun said China’s cooperation with Africa was rapidly being transformed from the general merchandise trade to investment collaboration to help achieve real economic development.

The goal, she said, was to support the growth of the continent, create wealth and fight poverty.

“The important thing to do is for the business community to be innovative and enter into partnerships to expand their operations and returns,” she said.

It should be a win-win cooperation,” she added.
