Airtel Ghana appoints Ahiagble Head of Corporate Communications

Airtel Ghana, the Telecom Brand of the year, has announced the appointment of Richard Ahiagble as the company’s Head of Corporate Communications effective 1st September 2015.

A statement issued by the Changemaker telecom giant indicates that Richard will lead the development and implementation of the company’s communications, reputation management, media and stakeholder engagement strategy.

The company’s release states “Richard, an astute communicator joins Airtel from Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd (GGBL) and its parent company, Diageo with a breadth of knowledge and experience in Corporate and Brand Communications, media management, Public Policy and CSR. Prior to his appointment, he headed the Sustainability team at GGBL responsible for strategy and communications for the company’s Sustainability agenda. Prior to that, he was with the Diageo Africa Corporate Relations team based in London with responsibility for driving Communications and CSR strategy for the Africa Region”.

Commenting on his appointment, Hannah Agbozo, Director for Legal and Corporate Affairs said “We are pleased to have Richard join our dynamic team at Ghana’s fasting growing Telecommunication Company as he brings onboard his rich and valuable experience in communications and CSR, his deep understanding of the business environment and an exceptional appreciation of the media landscape in Ghana”.

Richard is an accredited Public Relations professional with a first degree in Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon, a diploma [post graduate level] in Public Relations from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), UK and currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Ghana Business School.
