AGI lauds government for GH¢1bn stimulus package for SMEs

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has lauded government for announcing a GH¢1 billion stimulus package for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) to help mitigate the impact of the global pandemic on various businesses.

The Chief Executive Officer of AGI, Seth Twum-Akwaboah in a statement released and copied to GhanaWeb said, “We welcome government’s gesture to make available a minimum of GH¢1 billion to alleviate the impact of Covid-19 on businesses, especially SMEs and we look forward to engaging with Government on the modalities for effective implementation of this lifeline package”.

While commending government’s decision to lockdown parts of the country to combat the spread of coronavirus, Mr Twum-Akwaboah indicated that the decision could have dire consequences on the economy.
