
Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has been named among the Top 100 Ghanaians on the Avance Media Powerlist 2025.
The recognition places Dr. Siaw Agyepong among Ghana’s most influential personalities whose leadership, authority and impact significantly shaped the country’s political, economic, social and cultural landscape over the past year.
Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong is a leading Ghanaian entrepreneur and industrialist, best known as the Founder and Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, one of the largest and most diversified indigenous conglomerates in Ghana. Over the years, he has built a reputation for driving private sector-led solutions to some of the country’s most pressing environmental and sanitation challenges.
Through the Jospong Group, Dr. Agyepong oversees businesses operating across sanitation, waste management, environmental services, logistics and infrastructure development. The Group is widely recognised for its role in solid and liquid waste collection, landfill management, faecal sludge treatment, sewerage systems and wastewater treatment across several metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
In addition to environmental services, the Jospong Group operates in logistics, fleet management and technology-driven support services that enhance efficiency across its operations.
Under Dr. Siaw Agyepong’s leadership, the Group has grown into a major employer, creating tens of thousands of direct and indirect jobs nationwide.
Beyond business, Dr. Siaw Agyepong is known for his strong advocacy for sustainable sanitation, local industrialisation and public–private partnerships.
Published by leading African PR and rating firm Avance Media, the Top 100 Ghanaians Powerlist is an annual editorial assessment presented across 10 categories spanning governance, business leadership, media, civil society, education, religion, traditional leadership, law, sports and national security.
Dr. Siaw Agyepong was recognised under business leadership, alongside other prominent figures, for his role in driving private sector growth and advancing sanitation, waste management and industrial solutions through the Jospong Group.
Speaking on the release, Founder and Managing Director of Avance Media, Prince Akpah, explained that the Powerlist “goes beyond titles to examine influence, impact, and relevance, recognising those who lead, shape narratives, and have the power to cause change.”
According to Avance Media, selection for the Powerlist is guided by five key criteria: influence; leadership and authority; measurable impact; relevance within the year under review; and public visibility and accountability.
The 2025 list features leading figures from across Ghanaian society, including President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, among others.
