Huawei, the Chinese telecom equipment and phone brand maker entered in to Nigerian market three years ago, a time it considered late to brace with Nigeria’s big market but it is undaunted as it is determined to push through the competitive Smartphone market.

Its objective is not just to only play in the market but to lead the Smartphone market in Nigeria where other big brands are slugging it out. To demonstrate its seriousness, the brand with deep pocket recently introduced elegant and stylish P8 phone device to the family of its ‘P’ phone series. It says the phone built with natural connection to human nature provides phone users with inspiration for creativity.

House Yang, Huawei Consumer Product manager in Nigeria recognized that Huawei entered late in to the Smartphone market in Nigeria but his confidence of being at the top of Smartphone market is informed by various products, high and low end phones that the company is introducing to meet the needs of different consumers in Nigeria.

The P8 is not just a phone but a Smartphone that will create impact and make meaning for consumers. “Based on a deep understanding of human machine design, the Huawei P8 delivers a new level of usability for applications impacting everyday life – at work and at play”, House Yang told his audience at the unveiling of the product in Lagos recently.

The phone is 6.4mm thin, with dual sim cards and works seamlessly with a 4G network, where the service is available. “The P8 is designed to have a natural connection to human nature, providing solutions to common pain points and meeting consumers’ needs – both simple and complex”

For the camera, the phone introduces a new philosophy for camera design leveraging a combination of hardware, software and proprietary algorithms to help users capture beautiful photographs, even in the worst lighting conditions.

The company said the goal of Huawei P8 with official price of N99,900 is to become the most user-friendly Smartphone for consumers globally. “Through in-depth market research, Huawei has addressed the most pressing pain points for premium Smartphone users. Huawei seamlessly combines the best elements of style and durability in this device, delivering a revolutionary user experience – especially in terms of camera capabilities and network connectivity.

Building on the outstanding market performance of Huawei’s P series, “we believe the Huawei P8 will become one of the most popular Smartphone of 2015”, the company said.

The Huawei P8 launch event at its HQ in Nigeria was well-attended with select industry stakeholders from the Telecommunications, Banking, Entertainment and Mobile Technology sector being in attendance.

The black carpet event opened its doors to the press at exactly 2.00 pm, with a selfie stand close to the media wall where guests could experience the 13mega pixel capacity of the Huawei P8, they where then urged to tweet their selfies using the dedicated hashtags for the event
