The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana AddoDankwaAkuffo-Addo, has today Monday 22nd July, 2019, directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. David Asante – Apeatu, to proceed on leave, with immediate effect and handover the police administration to his Deputy Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh as Acting IGP of Ghana, until substantive IGP is appointed in accordance with the Constitution of Ghana.
This comes in line with Mr. Apeatu’s pending retirement from the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, 14th August, 2019.
