Mining Company, Newmont Ghana has donated a brand new Nissan Urvan bus to the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GHIS).
Handing the bus to the GHIS, Acting Regional Senior Vice President of Newmont Africa, Joshua Mortoti said the gesture was to appreciate the support and contribution of the surveyors association to mining companies in the country, particularly Newmont.
He stressed Newmont’s resolve in contributing to the development of Ghana and sees the donation to the GHIS as a way to entool the institution with the necessary equipment its members need to effectively discharge their duties.
Mr. Mortoti pledged Newmont’s unwavering support to the GHIS and hope for more partnership with the institution in the future.
“In support of the role the institution plays, Newmont is committed to support that. That is why we’re presenting to you today, a brand new Nissan bus. We’re hoping this will be able to help the institution going forward and as our contribution to continue developing surveyors who work for us,” he said.
President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, Surv. Egbert Kwadzo Hohoabu who received the bus on behalf of his outfit thanked Newmont for the support.
He believes the donation will motivate the institution to put in more effort in delivering on its mandate.
“We’ll use it to do our work with utmost dedication as we were doing in the past and for which reason Newmont is donating this to us,” Surveyor Hohoabu noted.
