African Centre for Energy Policy has called for transparency in oil contracts and management.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on the current state of contract bidding, a Senior Policy Analyst, Pauline Anaman, said in practice, Ghana falls short of some of the requirements.

She told George Ankrah that government cannot continue to choose to award public contracts at will therefore stakeholders must go according to the new law on open and competitive tendering and bidding instead of the Minister engaging in direct negotiation.

She said looking at the Sierra Leonean experience and other modules, Ghana’s status or process is weak and can lean form Sierra Leone to ensure transparency.
