‘We are working to save economy’- Vice President

    Vice President,Kwesi Amissah Arthur has assured Ghanaians of efforts to develop the Ghanaian economy despite the current challenges.

    According to him, such challenges are being confronted squarely to ensure progress in the country.

    The Vice president was speaking at a five day visit of a French delegation to Ghana.

    The delegation, led by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Municipal Council of Bordeaux, France will also follow up on partnerships formed amongst delegates and institutions in order to aid existing outcomes and agreements on the private sector, academic and municipal levels.

    Some areas they will be touching on include agro-business, hospitality and tourism, ICT, education, healthcare, packaging for export, pharmaceuticals, energy, waste management and infrastructure, among others.

    Addressing the French delegates, Mr. Amissah Arthur urged them to make a positive impact in the Ghanaian economy, to help improve market access in Ghana.

    ‘‘Like many countries, we have faced challenges mostly economic, in recent years. However, we decided that we will rise to the challenge and implement measures that will consistently develop our domestic economy by confronting these challenges,” he stated.

    The Vice President added, “We developed an agenda, transform our economy, by encouraging value addition. This requires initially macro-economic stability, provision of infrastructure and support for inclusive growth’’.
