Management of the Royal Bank Foundation has organised an end of year party for the inmates and care givers of the Autism Awareness Centre in Accra.

The end of year party was to rejoice with the inmates for a successful year, and also to appreciate the care givers for their efforts to support the inmates through teaching and learning.

Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, Head of Strategic Planning, Research and Corporate Affairs, the Royal Bank said that awareness on the disease was one of the priorities of the Bank.

He said the Foundation earlier in the year refurbished and donated items at a total cost of GH¢ 20,000 to the Autism Awareness Centre to improve teaching and learning.

“Next year, we will expand our support to the centre in various forms to improve on the awareness of the disease,” he added.

He said throughout the year, the Foundation has provided 42 boreholes to deprived communities across the country to enable them get potable drinking water.

He, however, said it was left with 18 boreholes to be constructed for communities in the Upper East Region to attain the 60 boreholes promised by the Bank annually.

Dr Baah-Nuakoh said next year, the Foundation would concentrate more on educational activities such as the organisation of quiz programmes in the areas of health and sanitation.
