Former legal advisor to ex-president Kufuor, Victoria Bright, has slammed the NPP for criticizing President John Mahama’s administration as incompetent. Bright suggests that instead of slinging mud, the NPP should focus on reorganizing their party.
In her view, the NPP’s rush to judge the government reflects poorly on their own recent election defeat. Bright points out that Ghanaians recognized the failures of the previous administration and voted accordingly.
The NPP’s criticism escalated after receiving a report on their 2024 election loss, with claims that they were gearing up to challenge the “incompetent government”. However, Bright urges them to reflect on their own shortcomings and concentrate on rebuilding their party.
Contrary to the NPP’s rhetoric, Bright commends President Mahama’s efforts in his first few months in office, echoing praise from other experts who applaud his strong leadership and policy direction. The message is clear – the NPP should look inwards and focus on their own issues rather than casting aspersions on the current administration.
