The first ever Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Awards in Ghana has been launched in Accra by InstinctWave Limited.
According to the organizers of the Ghana Telecom Awards and West African Telecom Summit & Expo, the Ghana CFO Awards will showcase and acknowledge not only Chief Financial Officers and their teams, but also the firms that provide them with the services, support, and technologies that enabled their individual success.
After a robust evaluation process, winners, organizers say, will be honoured at an awards ceremony on the 16th of October, 2015 at the prestigious Movenpic Hotel in Accra. The awards ceremony will be climaxed with an executive dinner, with industry experts in attendance.
In a statement by the organizers, the Chief Executive Officer of InstinctWave, Akin Naphtal said CFOs play a key role in driving innovation, business model optimization, strategic leadership, and proactive stakeholder engagement, yet they are the least of personalities mentioned or noticed in the lime-light unlike Chief Executive Officers and Marketing Managers.
According to Naphtal, there is every need to celebrate these accomplishments by financial executives and organizations for their financial leadership and contributions to their companies’ growth; an acknowledgement, he says, has not been done over the years.
He further noted that the Ghana CFO Awards is the first of its kind in Ghana’s accounting and finance sector which seeks to recognize professionals and businesses.
Organizers further stressed that the maiden Ghana CFO Awards will not be another networking opportunity but rather a celebration of the role that finance plays in Ghana’s economy and acknowledgement of those who have excelled in the field.
