Huawei wants more students for internship

Chinese telecommunication firm Huawei Uganda has called upon students to embrace the internship opportunities with the company to broaden their understanding on the ICT industry in the country.

Speaking during the internship closure ceremony at the company offices, Rwenzori courts, Kampala, the managing director Mr Stanley Chyn reiterated that the company wants to have more students embracing the program.

“It is the fourth year of Huawei Uganda to offer this internship and training program for the talented students from all around Uganda, approximately 50 students have benefited in it, doubling last year’s intake. We are glad to make contributions in ICT knowledge transfer,” Said Mr Chyn.

The program that also involved a survey & presentation competition themed “Telecommunications in My eye” was aimed at giving students a chance to research on the public’s attitude, opinions and preferences towards the telecom services of the different operators in the country.

50 students were given certificates of training for their successful completion of the 2-month internship and training program in Huawei Uganda.
