The government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all aspects of the economy are digitized within the shortest possible time.
The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu, told Business Day during the 2018 IMF/World Bank Spring Meeting in Washington DC, USA that the digitisation of the various sectors of the economy is in line with the President’s vision of making Ghana the most business-friendly country on the continent.
“Digitizing the economy will minimise the tendency of officials to be ‘corrupt’ and increase drastically revenue in different sectors of the economy,” she stated.
According to her, government would soon provide a seed capital to a number of entrepreneurs, innovators and software developers to innovate and create more stuff. She however, declined to provide the amount when quizzed further.
“Government is also going to provide more innovation hubs and labs for young people and also build technology parks across the country,” she stated.
