Good client service must be made topmost priority

    People into the fashion design industry have been advised to make good client service a topmost priority and work to meet deadlines.

    Mrs. Lydia Abbey, A Vocational Skills Tutor at Wesley College of Education, said it was the way forward to survive the fierce competition and expand their businesses.

    She noted that the industry was fast growing and competitive and that was why they needed to make deliberate and determined effort to win the customer’s confidence.

    She was addressing the third graduation ceremony and fashion show held by the LUCBILT Fashion Institute at the Patase Estate in Kumasi.

    A total of 16 students graduated after completing a year-and-half training in dressmaking and fashion design and they were presented with certificates.

    Mrs. Abbey encouraged them to make effective use of the skills and knowledge acquired – to tap the opportunities out there to improve the quality of life.

    That she noted, would require creativity, integrity and the adoption of best business practices.

    The Reverend Dr. Douglas Frimpong, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of Council of Churches, asked them to set their sights high, telling them to be abreast of the local and the international market trends.

    He urged them to believe in themselves and to have what he termed the “can-do-it spirit”.

    The Institute, established in year 2003, has so far graduated 45 trainees.
