Public sector workers across the country are to receive a 12.5 per cent salary increment.
The increment was approved after a Public Sector Joint Negotiation Committee meeting today, Tuesday September 13.
Even though the date for the increment has not been announced, it is being speculated to take effect sometime in 2017.
Meanwhile, a labour economist at the University of Ghana, Dr William Baah-Boateng, has welcomed the move as he believes the action will cushion public sector workers against inflation.
