Nigeria Sets Six-Week Timeline to Gradually Unlock Economy

The government will oversee the reopening of the economy which will be done in phases, spanning a total of six weeks and broken into three tranches of two weeks each. “This phased strategy is designed to reduce the pains of socio-economic disruptions”, a government official has said.

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted economies and lives around the world and has seen an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, including 40 health workers who have been quarantined but whose condition is not known.
