Mantrac Ghana Limited, the sole authorized dealer of Caterpillar (CAT) products in Ghana, has held a power solution seminar in Accra to update its customers, and introduce businesses to new technologies to improve efficiency of its products.

The day seminar also addressed the concerns of customers drew from various sectors of the economy, such as mining, banking, telecommunication, and public service.

In a speech read on his behalf, Mr Emad Adeeb, the Managing Director of Mantrac Ghana, said the company had over the decades, supplied and supported major power plants and projects with its reliable CAT-branded diesel power generating sets with a customized after sales support.

He said: “This year is no exception, we have supplied various sets from 12.5kva up to bigger projects like the 5.8 MW generator installed recently for Persus Mining.

“Our supplies now cuts across from residential up to small, medium and large organizations; helping businesses run non-stop thereby improving production and economic growth.”

Mr Adeeb said the company in collaboration with Stanbic Bank would provide customized payment options of any size of diesel powered generator that a customer may require.

“This eases the burdens of having to make outright payment before one owns the legendary CAT diesel powered generator,” he added.

The Head of Marketing and Strategic Planning at Mantrac Ghana, Mr Daniel Pabby, disclosed that Mantrac was planning to roll out Mantrac DC generators, as well as stepping up its leadership in power generation.

“This is the best in class of fuel efficient solution, this solution saves fuel, oil and reduces wear and tear with fewer emissions to the environment, compared with fixed speed AC gen sets,” he said.

The solution, he observed, overcame excessive fuel consumption at lower loads by running at most fuel efficient speed.

“Key advantages specific to telecommunication application is its ability to save 30-50 per cent on fuel, 30 per cent decrease in size of alternator and reduction in Capex life cycle as well as maintenance cost,” he added.

Customers expressed their satisfaction with the platform created to voice their concerns, particularly at a time when households and businesses faced erratic power supply.
