The Executive Director of Databank Asset Management Services Limited, Rev Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh, has admonished the public to “spend less, save more, and invest your savings” in order to build wealth.

Rev Tetteh has urged the general populace to “make investment a cornerstone of their lives” due to its potential to make one financially independent through the right investment instruments.

He indicated that Databank was looking at breaking frontiers to maintain their “tradition of delivering returns that are always competitive, ahead of the market and other competitors”.

According to him, 2017 looks promising and the bank will provide returns above market rates.

He, however, cautioned investors to be wary of fraudulent firms and other scammers who promise overwhelming rates. He said investors should desist from chasing returns “which make people get drawn to very high returns which make some of us cringe”.

He encouraged investors to set a financial goal for the New Year and implement a “game plan on how to get there”. For him, individuals must set aside monies to save and invest before thinking about what to spend on whenever they get money.

He encouraged individuals to always have a budget, “which is important to help people make a surplus”.

He pointed out: “It is not enough to save but you need to invest to make your money work for you.”
