The Energy Commission is on the heels of Solar service providers who do not have the required licenses for their business.

Many businesses have ventured into the production of solar services to cash in on the power crisis.

But the Energy Commission says some of these businesses have not been licensed.

Inspector of Electricity and Renewal Energy at the Energy Commission Peter Ahmed Amanquandoh told Starr News such solar service providers will be prosecuted.

“By the renewable energy law, it is an offense to carry out any commercial activity in the industry without a license from the energy commission. Some people know it but just like any other law, we flout it with impunity.

“We, (energy commission) through our regulatory powers are moving round the capital cities to make sure that any solar service provider without license from the energy commission is made to dance to the full rigors of the law,” he stated.
