5th Ghana Trade and Finance Conference Comes Off 27th July

The 5th Conference on Trade and Finance will come off on the 27th July 2021 at the Moevenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra, organizers have announced. 

Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will open the 1-day conference with a Keynote Address under the conference theme; Facilitating Trade and Trade-Finance in AfCFTA; The Role of the Financial Services Sector.”

Also in attendance will be H.E Albert M. Muchanga, African Union Commissioner for Trade, Industry and Mining who will deliver a Special Address on behalf of the African Union.

According to a release announcing the conference, there will also be two panel discussions with participants including Governor of the Central Bank of Ghana – Governor Yedu Addison, Governor of the Central Bank of Francophone West Africa – Governor Kone and 

The Governor of the Central Bank of Francophone Central Africa – Governor Tolli.

Other participants will be The Director-General of West Africa Monetary Institute – Dr. Oluwafeso, Director of Research and Macroeconomics of the Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development – Dr. Asenso; Commissioner, National Insurance Commission – Dr. Ofori and the President of AfDB – Dr. Adesina

The main theme for the 5th Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference is: Facilitating Trade and Trade-Finance in AfCFTA; The Role of the Financial Services Sector and the sub-theme is: Creating an Enabling Macroeconomic Environment in AfCFTA; The Role of the Central Banks in Africa. 

The 5th Conference will critically discuss everything within the Pan-African Payment and Settlement Systems including; Cross Border Payment, Single Currency and issues of delay, BlockChain technology; Digital Currency, Currency Convertibility aside the US Dollar, Monetary Policy/Price Levels, Financial Sector Regulation and Reforms amongst a tall list of other important measures. 

“Due to the COViD Protocols currently in place, the conference will only admit 200 Participants. We, therefore, encourage the Targeted Audience within the general public to call our secretariat and book a seat on,” the organisers stated.
